Principal: Walt Marston
Walt Marston has been in the business of providing clients with data management services for the past 30 years. He has a Masters in Urban Planning degree from Michigan State University. In the 1970s and 1980s he served in various capacities as an urban planner (in the beginning as a transportation planner). He has always been focused on systems analysis, methodology, and technology, and is known for his writing and organizational skills.
Database development and data visualization/mapping have always been major components of his work. In the 1990s this involved working with many municipal clients in the Grand Rapids area and West Michigan region, particularly GIS (database and mapping) and community networking projects. In more recent years, the emphasis has been on working with educational, non-profit and business organizations to provide systems for tracking staff or client interactions and status, and measuring performance outcomes, providing assessments and reporting trends. Often this has been in support of accreditation review processes or demonstrating success to funding agencies.
He also organizes and provides facilitation services, particularly for dialogue and "discernment" of difficult issues, but also for strategic planning processes.
